Picked up a QB Screamin' Cottontail last night. This is the first closed reed Predator Call that I have gotten from QB and I must say that I am very Impressed.
There are a few break points in it if you go with soft calls but as long as you keep the pressure up you can get some Awesome Distress Calls!
I love the Raspy Sound it Produces as you hit the High Pitched Screams...It almost sounds like 2 different calls in one! A Raspy High Pitched Scream..! WIN-WIN!
BRAVO! Lovin' the Call!
THANKS QUAKER BOY!

I use that call as a locator for turkeys sometimes. I can't wait to take the Chompers out this year. Compact!

Quaker Boy has released a couple new closed reed calls for 2010. The Chompers very compact comes in a 3 pack with short-medium-long range, and the peltmaster.
I have had the chompers in the field hope to have the peltmaster out soon.

The Chompers look like whistles, I wish that QB would have more details about their calls. The brief descriptions are not enough. I am guessing they are internal reed calls, but are they soft at the mouth piece for control and variation of pitch?
The Peltmaster looks just like the Screamin' Cottontail. What kind of differences should I expect from this call? I can't Imagine it being too much different than the Screamin' Cottontail but obviously it has enough of a difference to be considered a Separate Call, otherwise it would be called the "Super Screamin' Cottontail".
I really wish that there were videos for each of the Predator Calls to show the people what they sound like and how to use them effectively. It would be great to have a tips section too for each of the calls. This would Increase Sales Big Time!
I would donate my time to make the videos, I know that you Pro Staffers would do a Much Better Job at Creating the Call's Designed Sounds but you may be limited on time.
I know that I would buy a lot more calls from you if I knew what I was getting other than the usual 1 sentence short description that barely describes the call's purpose. I feel that most consumers feel the same way that I do, a lot of my Predator Hunting Club's Members (COYOTE INC) ask me what the "such and such" call from QB sounds like (I plug Quaker Boy on our Facebook Page as well as discuss you on every Predator Forum I am part of), and I cannot tell them. All I can say is that the Super Screamer is a Must for a Distress Call in any Predator Hunter's Arsenal and that the Howler Pack is a Rocking Howler Set but does require some Care. I am now promoting the Screamin' Cottontail but the DD4 still needs some more field testing. It would be nice to have a dedicated reed mouth call designed for Birds that had a natural chirp and purr built into it....Just an idea that I have had for a while that no one makes. You can do a tongue or uvula flutter on the Super Screamer to Achieve this Effect but it does take some practice (Thanks for that tip Dave!).
It would be Really Cool if Quaker Boy was the First Company to have Videos for Each of their Call's Sounds, How to use the Calls, and Possibly a Tips and Tricks Video as well! You could put the Video Links on the Page that Details Each Call.
This way the Consumer would be able to hear the call, see it being used, have the style and materials used in the call be described to them, as well as a "How To" section, and some Good Tips/Tricks. Heck if you throw a video of a predator coming into that specific call you would be Golden!
Just an Idea, but I think you could sell way more calls if People knew what they were getting before buying them.
Let me know if this is something that you would like for me to do for you or if this is something Quaker Boy is Already Working on. I would be more than Happy to Help you guys out! Send me a PM or email me at coyote.inc.maine@gmail.com if I can be of service to Quaker Boy!
Thanks for letting me know about the 2010 Calls!

Thought it was a cool idea...Maybe one day the Call Companies will start doing it. I wonder who will be the First? That is going to be a Home Run for Sales!
I don't understand why Call Companies don't at least do Sound Files. Sound Files of the Calls would be quick and simple to make and would not use up much room on the website, yet tons of people would buy the calls because they would know what the call sounded like before buying it......

Woodhaven has sound files on their new site. Pretty cool I must say.
It has been discussed at QB, but wasn't put on the priority list, as there were other projects using up the effort. After all of the sales season madness gets handled, mass orders get shipped and things slow down a bit, I believe it will be taken care of.

I mentioned before about making videos of the calls. There are some custom call makers that have videos on their sites. I bought my first box call from a guy that posted a video of it on youtube with a link to his site. I think its a great idea to make videos of each call and would definitely boost sales. A lot of businesses are taking advantage of free advertising on youtube demonstrating their products. Im surprised QB hasnt jumped on board...

I agree 100% FlHunter23! I remember you saying something a while back. I was actually surprised that they did not take me up on the free offer. But if they are going to do it they might as well have Pro Staff do it and do it with HD Video Cameras.
I buy calls after I hear them too! I have bought a ton of QB calls but I have stopped temporarily because I have found that I never know what I am going to get until I try it. I am going to watch the "Beginners' Friction Calling DVD" again so that I know which sound I want for my Spring Turkey Call. I was pretty set on Getting the Supreme Call but I want to watch it again before I buy my QB Turkey Call.
I will however be picking up the "Jack Rabbit Screamer" in the future because my Super Screamer just Broke and the "Jack Rabbit Screamer" looks like an Open Reed Version of the Super Screamer. Wish I could hear it but it does not matter what it sounds like because with an open reed call I will be able to make almost any sound that I want, especially once I slide that o-ring to the position that I want it.
If only I could see it in use first!

I dunno who's in charge of sales or whatever department you need to contact, but your probably gonna have to go higher up the chain. Id make two or three videos demonstrating some calls and have them ready for email, then call whoever it is you need to call and present them with your ideas. Id tell them you would make videos demonstrating the calls you already have and if they would send you the calls you don't have you would field test them and demonstrate them also. You could go as far as making a free Quakerboy youtube account and uploading the videos to it. Its nothing for them to add the videos to the site from there. Put together a good presentation and don't be to pushy.
I feel your pain dude. I've looked for videos on QB turkey calls, shocks calls with no luck.
Its really not just a good way to make sales but a good way to keep a customer. How many people do you think buy QB calls that don't know how to use them correctly only to toss them in the recycling bin thinking the call sucks. I done it on one of the owl hooters but then I heard someone use it on a video somewhere and it didn't sound half bad.
