I pulled my old browning bow out of the closet and was gonna put a new string on it and give it to my brother but for the life of me i cant find out what string length to buy. The old string is broke into two pieces and the numbers are pretty much worn off the limb. I have no idea what model it is either. Ive been trying to do a google search to match a picture up to figure out what model it is but havent had any luck with that.

From what i can read on the label the string length is either 58.50 or 59.50. Could i just go with the 59.50 and give it a few more twists? Its a double cam bow...

That is not a move that I would suggest, my man. I would take it to Gander Mtn. right now, before they get too busy. Unfortunately, Ocala bites bigtime, and Lake Mary is where it's at. I know that you won't be making it over that way any time soon. I would say to call L/M, and ask for Bryant or Chris. They might be able to look up the model and tell you exactly.

Im hard headed when it comes to doing it myself. No gander mountain for me. Heres what i did though... I unwound the serving on both ends of the broken string and matched up the broken threads on each end. Each end had some longer and some shorter so it was pretty easy to tell where they went. Then i reserved it to keep it in place. I came up with 59.25 inches. I'm gonna assume i need a 58.50 inch string and have .75 inches of stretch and maybe off a little when tying it back together.

Do you think this would be a fair assumption? I dont really wanna invest the time into going to gander mountain. I dunno the model and from pictures ive seen on google it looks close to a couple models except for the cams. Other than there isnt any numbers or anything to identify it by.

Just on a gamble, go to Archerytalk.com, and post up a pic asking for identification. There are some serious Momo's in there, but there are some Legit baller's in there as well, and I think you will gather enough info to be 100% sure of the model, and the exact string size. The fact that the string will be under so much stress over 100's of shots, and being so close to your face, has me a bit nervous, my man:D

I was thinking the same thing earlier today about putting it on there. Ill have to find my camera. I got a few things to put on craigslist so ill get it all done in one shot sometime tomorrow maybe. You dont have to worry about my face since im gonna give it to my little brother.

I can make out what looks like Jon Cmb. on the label. I thought it was Omb last time i looked at it. It looks like a combustion model but the pictures on google got split limbs and this one doesnt. The cams look pretty similar. Theres another sticker that says built by jeronimo...

Mite want to bring it up to Dick Kirby don't think hes got a Grand Slam with a spear yet. He is the Grand Slam master with over 50 to his credit. In 2009 he took a slam with a crossbow:cool:

You get your chit in order? Get some new duds for FE WMA...we will be trying to get some footage for the new public access television "Hog Commander" show....

If I had the cash and time, I would buy a HD video camera and all the equip to boot and shoot the chronicles on hunting public land in Florida--all seasons
included.

What a D-bag. I did get the bow straightened out though. I shot that pig with it at FE. I had three deer sneak in behind me at Jumper today. Had a big fat doe at 20 yards broadside.

Good deal Sam, shame none of them had head gear or you would have torched him @ 20 yards...Gonna sit that stand one more time on 10/22/10..Dont know if it will the morning or afternoon/evening..after that I'm taping out until Citrus opens archery to all the goons on 11/17/10-12/5/10. After 12/5/10, I'm done and will be waiting for the main event--Turkey Season!

Looking for a used climbing stand....Trying to talk the boss into letting me buy one of those top-of-the-line Summit Viper climbers, but she aint going for it.:(
