Been messing around with these for a week in the backyard. I have not really shot my bow since November 2009, so I shot last week and started to group well w/ the blazer vanes, so I thought my form was in decent shape again.
I was shootin my Bear Truth I set at 28.5" draw & 63 lbs. Shooting w/ field tips at 22-23 yards. First 2 arrows in the video have FOB flecthing and the second 2 arrows are blazers. I was aiming for the center of the deer's rearend. FOBS shot 2-3 inches low out of my bow. Gonna stick w/ the blazers...I will shoot some broadheads later this summer prior to the season opening w/ both FOBS and Blazers.

I shot this 4 arrow sequence about 4 times and the FOBS were always 2-3 inches low...I wanted to make sure that I was not just dropping my bow arm due to not shooting in about 7 months.
I also popped some fobs off the arrow when I shot the other groups and lost a nock...I think these things would be hell to find in dense Florida woods. My testing and playing with these gizmos are over and I have made up my mind that Blazer vanes are better for me when it comes to hunting. Not bashing the FOB, they do fly great and true, just not cut out for where I hunt.

BTW, if anyone wants a "free" standard FOB to test out, shoot me a pm. It has to be a active member and not some freeloading sob.

The video doesnt work dude. I would try shooting them both at 30 yrds and maybe 15 just to see if the poi is the same.

The Blazers are my favorite. It took me forever to switch from 4in vanes to them, but once I did, there is no looking back.

Those arrow shafts blend right in with the brush pile in the background. You must have sighted in with the blazers. If you sighted in with the fobs you'd be shooting high with the blazers. If you shoot them in the legs they cant get away. You gotta stop going to the woods with me. Your picking up some bad habbits. :p

That shooter buck 3-d deer target looks okay, but if its made by the Field Logic block folks, it might be chit. I'm sick of shooting spot targets and need some 3-d targets for the backyard...I also need a new broadhead target and might just get the wal-mart yellow/black cheapo this summer. That wal-mart buckmasters bag target in the video has held up well to field points so far.

I bought a cheap 4 sided target from walmart and got two seasons out of it. I shot the crap out of that thing. It had a broadhead side and a field point side. I did have to duct tape it a few times though. Broadheads are hell on layered foam.

Cant help myself...I lowered my sight and shot a 30 yard group w/ one FOB arrow and two blazer arrows. As I suspected the FOB is now dead on and the blazers are high. Not a bad 30 yard group for myself, considering I'm shooting both fobs and blazers in the same group.
the testing will continue!!!!

My backyard is well shaded most of the day. Good during the summer, but sucks when the leaves start to fall during the winter.
I'm getting bored of shooting this bag target and I need some 3-d targets to play with

I hear ya dude. Ive been wanting a 3d target for the longest time but havent had the money to shell out for it. When i do have the money it seems to be better spent on broadheads or shafts or necessities instead of accessories. I tell you what though. If you could get a deer form and fill it with industrial foam or something and sell them at 20 dollars a pop or so as throw away targets. You would make a killing.

Just had an idea brainstorming... Why not make blazers out of the same material as the fobs and have them slide on the arrow the same way. It would be a fob without the circle. You could call them Blazies.

Getting out the bohning helix jig this weekend and doing up some arrows. I'm getting better accuracy w/ the blazers the the current broadheads I will be hunting with this year. After 2 years of off and on testing, I'm not a fob-kinda-guy afterall.

Have you thought about trying these out? They are insane! I checked them out at The Big Buck Expo last year. This guy, Jeff, has some good ideas and products. I use a good bit of his stuff. AND, he's right here in Florida!

Thanks, but no thanks. I'm sticking w/ tradational vanes (Blazers). All of these alternative flecthing are no more than gizmos IMO.
30 yard group from this afternoon. I have more confidence w/ the Blazers.
