This Saturday was the dove shoot that fellow Pro Staffer Scott Ellis had invited me to,and I had an excellent time.The day started early with a breakfast and progressed to a cookout with more friends and relitives of Scott's showing up.As noon closed in,everyone headed to their spots and waited for the doves to come,and come they did!It sounded like the Fourth of July with shotguns blazing away all around the field.I shared a tree with my friend Kris Chancey for the first time,and that alone was wild,because this guy likes to BLAST.The day ended sooner than I would have liked,but it seems like all days afield do.The neat thing was the mix of old and young out on the field,with kids grinding along with older folks,and men along side of women, in the oft changing weather conditions.There were many Beatdowns handed out,some to the doves,most to the hunters!
The point of this story isn't to give a kill by kill account, but to give an overview of an experience that I hope everyone gets to have.
