focus? dirty lens? other than that maybe the eye relief could make it seem "dirty"

dont have a focus, and the lense gets cleaned everytime i go out, thats about it, i can see the dot plus anothe one right beside of the middle one, when i go to a brighter setting it really runs together, just dont know, im getting ready to get a tasco red dot and see what i can get from that one, thanks for the reply

Just curious, how come you are so keen on red dots? I thought about using one, just to try something different. I prefer fiber optic open sights on my turkey guns, and standard scopes on my rifles.Crossbows never struck my fancy.
Good luck on your quest.Let us know how it turns out.

Chad the only gun i have a red dot on is my AR-15 its just so quick to throw up on the target in competition shoots and I love it for varmint hunting.

I tried one on a competition pistol once, and it was awesome.I don't shoot pistols often,so that made it seem extra cool.It was neat holding my arms out and seeing the dot in the middle of the big piece of glass, pulling the trigger and cans flying.I dont think I could hunt with one, though.

Just wondering,at what point did I tell you to DO ANYTHING LIKE ME? You came with a question, and got two answers from two people. I made a STATEMENT about what I personally preferred for myself.Remember that in a forum, you will be subject to other peoples opinions.I only asked why you like red dots hoping that I could get an opinion from someone who uses one often.I will respect this Forum and end this conversation on that. Good luck.

hmmmmm it got very hostile in here over the weekend while I was hunting. Is there a reason for it? One person asked for an opinion and two other people gave theirs. I don't believe Chad was being derogitory about your optics or method. So I think we should tone it down in here a bit. Of course that is just my "opinion". Which is what this forum is all about.

Don't worry ladies and gentlemen,it's all part of the show! We're all friends in here.
had same problem couple years ago and it ended up that where the glass meets the metal was "dusty" clean my lense often but didnt get right around the sides of it.used a q-tip and the dot was back sharp as ever...
just seen the date on this but better late than never i guess :)

Bushnell Trophy red dot has a much better reticle than my Tru Glo. It is the one I can choose different styles of reticles.
Man, I will say you wouldn't survive on most boards if you get ticked at a simple innocent comment like TropyT made. Uncalled for cbbase. Chill out. It's a valid question, scope or red dot. I am a red dot user for turkey gun and crossbow and iron sights and scope for rifles. Always am wondering about using a scope on the turkey gun or crossbow. I like the opinions of scope users. Helps to gain another perspective. Nothing to do with right or wrong.

For the most part this is one of the most friendly and respectful forums in the industry. People know they can come here and get the real deal. Sometimes when people spend too much time on other forums, they don't realize that not everyone is a wannabe know it all, looking to make them look like a fool in front of the other posters. As hard as it is to stay out of a verbal battle that you know you can easily win, it is even harder to change the way people look at you for beating up on forum newbies.
The reason I have my credentials on my signature is not to flaunt my never ending coolness(Which there is lots:D ) but to show what is possible by respecting each person you meet on the trail, and remind myself why I am here.
Thanks to everyone for keeping the dialog boxes open and respecting each other. That dude hasn't been back on here in months, so perhaps he got the answers he was looking for.
The "problem" got Handled in the PM box;)
Let's keep on rockin' into Spring!!
