Been out the past 4-5 mornings here in Citrus Co., Fl. and have heard no gobbling yet. Been bumping a ton of deer, typical since that season is long over.

Going out tomorrow b4 work again and listen at dawn to see whats crackin in da turkey woods.;)

I can safely say that I've heard gobbles year round up here just south of the Ohio River. Spring gobbling will last clear into July, and there will be a gobble here and there throughout deer season. The muggy days of July and early August usually shuts them down, but a cool clear day after a front may get them going. Winter in general is deadly quiet. If it warms up like it did a couple of weeks ago, you'll hear a gobble or two for a couple of days and then it subsides. As far as the first true gobbles of Spring go, I start listening and owling on the first weekend of March. On good years, I get an answer. Other years, I do not get an answer until the last weekend, and Yute season starts the next. If I had to pick a date, it would probably average to somewhere in the third week of March.
