I am working with a new mouth call. It says to Chee-Uck with out vocal chords.
I am trying but not sure I am doing it right. Any suggestions
Thanks.....
PS
I have been out of mouth calls for quite sometime due to a dental plate. Thanks Quaker Box for the foam fit, it works well if I can figure out how to Chee-Uck.

This is an easy thing to show someone, but a difficult thing to explain by typing, but here goes.I'm going to tell you a way to get the basic yelp without saying any specific word.

Place the call on your tounge and put against the roof of your mouth lightly.Just enough to seal it properly. Then build up a little air in your lungs so you can exhale slowly at a constant rate, kind of like sighing. The idea is to have constant air flowing over your tounge under the reeds of the call so that you can begin to build up a sound. The sound that you want to start coming out sounds like a mosquito in your ear,(WEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeee) Once you obtain that sound on command, start it like normal, and then lower your jaw slightly until the rythem is disrupted by a yelp.(WEEEEEeeeeeYulp,WEEEEEEEEeeeeeYulp.Keep practicing this until you find the best way to work your jaws/tounge to make yelps. As you practice more you will begin to dial out the mosquito sound at the beginning until it is gone completely. (WeeYulp WeeYulp,Yulp,Yulp, etc.) the goal is for Yulp Yulp Yulp!

You can work on clucks too by placing the call up there and holding it there lightly and huffing air up and mouthing (Pit,Pit,Pit) with your lips quickly.
Good luck, and thanks a million for running with Quaker Boy! Come back anytime if we can help.
