Hey everyone,

Lets do a little brainstorming and try to come up with some ideas to improve the forums. For example:

Are there any features that you like on other forums?
Would you like to see more categories?

Feel free to post whatever you are thinking and don't limit yourself to the questions above :)

I would like to see a much larger "header" on the main page to direct more people to the forum. Perhaps a cool big picture that can be clicked on that directs them here...

I know we are going to give the homepage a facelift soon, so maybe we can incorperate that into the mix. Right now, people either need to be invited here from another forum, or have to see the tiny little "forum" caption at the top of the QB page.

Yeah, Tomorrow is the "Official" last day of the '08/'09 season. That's ducks and all. That means that the true countdown till Spring Gobbler Season begins. Have a happy birthday..

How about the ability to change the background of the page to different colors other than blue, a Quaker Boy themed background, or perhaps some different big game animals to reflect each season....

I think Chad has a good idea there, it would be nice to see some pictures of some big ole toms strutting during spring turkey season. Mabey as a background or in the header somehow.

Or mabey pictures of:

Deer in the Deer hunting forum
Turkey in the Turkey hunting forum
Ducks in the waterfowl hunting forum.

How about a map that you click your state, county, city, and then hunting location, then it can tell you the exact location and time of where that big buck or gobbler that your looking for will be. I hope you guys can get it up and running by spring gobbler time! :)

I think this is a great forum.....with a lot of knowledgable guys.

My suggestions:

- A thread to post pic's (scouting/off season/food plots/blinds/boats, ect....) or whatever. I love looking at pic's!
- A thread consisting of useful hunting links (ie) sunset/sunrise calculator, turkey harvest statistics, Duck/goose band information, free target downloads, 3rd party product reviews, information op patterning or links to naked pic's of wife (joking......if she reads this I'm a dead man)
- A thread where members can trade a hunt with another member, or guide services should someone want to hunt in another province/state, or country.
- A thread for member product reviews, and upcoming trade shows or events (I'm always up for a road trip)

Thanks,

John

I was doing some more thinking, I like the giveaway idea palmetto said, People like free stuff. It might drive people to get on here more. I was thinking maybe one of these prostaffers on here could make some video tips on calling using quakerboy products. Could help sell products, and teach the new guys at the same time. To be completely honest i ordered a box call online, but it wasnt from quakerboy. I do plan to buy one in the future though. The other site sold me with the video even though it was a little more money. guess i will find out on the quality when i get it.

That's a good idea Tim, I have a couple of guys that I am going to shoot with in a league that run an archery shop that would help keep that thread rockin' throughout the year. I'll contact Dave on this.

How about a DIY section. Everytime a wanna DIM I google it. Not one single time has this forum ever popped up!

Some examples. Bow Tuning, Mud Motor Plans, Camo Paint Job (Tyson), Scent Lure, Cover Scent, ReFletching an Arrow, Serving a string or Tying a Peep, Sighting in a Bow, Home Made Treestands, How to repair scratches on your guns camo paint job or blued barrell ;) etc. etc.

I think if we could get something like this going after a while it could help bring some much needed traffic to the forum.

I think that is a GREAT Idea, and thanks for the plug. There are many projects that I would like to learn from others on here rather than some old outdated or untrusted person. I like this crew and would love to see their projects, especially step by step! I also do a lot of odd mods and other things related to hunting and gear that I would love to share, as I like to document the process for each one. This is a really great opportunity for others to learn from people they trust (well in some cases anyways! :p) rather than hours of searching the net for a DIY model, when sometimes you already know how you are going to go about a job but would like to see some other approaches and get some new ideas or another perspective.
Great Idea FlHunter23! :D

I been working on a special camoflage pattern that consists of mostly green grass, bush beer cans, thermacell pads, slim jim wrappers, cigg. butts, and mosquitos. Should be a winner.

Throw in some "Marital Aids" and it will work good down there at JC. I kid you not I've seen these down there.
