Do any of you fish for trout with Spinning Gear? What is your favorite set-up(Rod,length,reel,etc) for the creeks and rivers?

Trout season will be in full swing when I head to Pa. I like hitting little creeks with an Ultralight combo and minnows. It's action packed and is almost like turkey hunting. You have to stop hunting at Noon there, so it's how I like to end my day:)

That actually sounds like a lot of fun.

I use a short rod 4 footer and worms no sniker. The short rod allows me to move around the brush eazier and the no sniker lets the worm move more naturally. Don't sound like much but sure makes for some fun in tight places.
Safe Huntin'............ Oh I met good fishin'

I like a light rod spinner combo. I use salted minnows, shove this wire rig down their gullet so the eyelet for a hook sticks out the tail end of the baitfish, the hook will then be gotten by anything nippin at the tail of the bait in the current,.excellent for stockers and smaller trout that might not gulp the whole thing at once. I love fresh stockers.

I like to use an ultra light rig with 4# test, rigged with either salted minnows or live shiners when I fish for trout in PA.:)

I use 20lb. test Spiderwire on my creek rig to drag rocks out of the way when a smart Native decides to take my minnow under it for lunch.:D

spinning short action reel with ultra light 6foot rod with anywhere from 2-6 pound line.[ depends what mood of trout is in a nd water clearity] alot of rainbows and brookies and brown in the creeks around here. i use alot of micro-lures. you can catch a ton of stockies but i like to get in there before stock and target the big browns and etc. ...Dave...
