Snow storm last night and this AM made for a very treacherous ride this morning. Our three truck convoy quickly turned into two when one lost control and ended up in the medium strip sideways, with a blown tire!

Just as we arrived to our spot, truck number 2 buried to the axle in the road to our field!

Upon completion of the hunt, we found truck 3 with a flat tire!

I didn't know you could hunt those. Is Texas the only state you can hunt them in?

They are fantastic table fare and there are several states you can hunt them in. You can shoot them with everything from buck shot (lead) to steel 2's. Personally I was using steel T's so I could shoot a snow if it happened by!

Hey Dags,

Great pics of the crane's. The sandhill crane story is an awesome one. They were on the brink of extinction in the 70's, but with many people's dedication & hard work they have made an amazing comeback. Glad you enjoyed your trip.
