I have the first archery hunt and was wondering if anyone else will be out there.

Did not get pulled for Flying Eagle...I also will be across the river with FlHunter. I have hunted FE a lot. They open the gates for the early duck season sometime at the end of September (Chad will know the dates), so you can actually drive in there and scout via vehicle(unless you are going in via the river). Hardly anyone goes out there for the early duck season, so you dont have to be worried about being pounded w/ steel shot. I have seen some nice bucks in there when I scout on my mountain bike before gobbler season. Its about legal to shoot anything in there during archery season. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I have hunted out there a hand full of times and have also seen plenty of game except for this past turkey season.

Killed an 80lb sow Saturday Morning and she was the first animal at the check in station. Missed a hen turkey Monday evening and had deer and pigs around me every day but they were all out of bow range.

I'd say the hunt could have been better but between the full moon and heat I'm just lucky to have seen some game.

Sure was alot of "nimrods" out there and then the dang airboats......that is another story!

Nice job on the hog. I understand about the airboats and nimrods. I have always had better luck at FE. Were you the only person out there w/ traditional equip?

I'm sure there had to be a couple more of us Trad guys out there. I'm done hunting Flying Eagle. Just to many Airboats running all over the place ruining the hunting and to many idiots walking around talking on Nextel's. Heck I may have been the only one out there using a treestand.

That is a DEVASTATING Exit Wound! Holly Crap...I need to take my Archery Safety Course and start hunting the extended seasons up here! God I want to Bow hunt so BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on the hog dude. Them airboaters drive me nuts! They are up and down the river all day. Especially after 4 pm then they really start taking off. Sounded like someone was out there with a 22 last sunday just blasting away. The messed up thing is i dont even think half of them are hunting. They are joy riding. I seen two airboaters last sunday in casual clothes fly by us.
