What is your favorite choke and load combo for shooting Wood Ducks?

Anybody? I bought the wrong load/shells last year i guess. My buddy and his brother were laughing at me and said they wouldnt work...

I'm going to use Kent Fasteel this year. This is some very underrated stuff. Kent isn't the biggest name out there, but their stuff is Off The Chain! Their turkey loads are lethal, and so are the duck loads. The craziest part is how cheap they are!:eek: This is one of the best kept secrets in the outdoor world

I will be using a modified tube, and 12ga. 2/34in #4 shot b/c I will be in an area that has Mallards,as well as Woody's. This will split the difference between killing them, and blowing them to bits, like I did with BLACKCLOUD last season:D

:o Guess i did get the wrong ammo... Maybe ill give the ducks a try this year. I was messing around with the tuning on both of my woody calls earlier today. I guess im the guy that sits on the beach waxing his surf board everyday but doesnt know how to surf, or the guy that buys a motor cycle helmet but doesnt own a bike. ill get on it soon enough... Talking about it is the first step. ;)

At least you have an interest! Tell us again what shells you got last year for ducks?

lol i didnt say to begin with, but if you must know... I got the box with the birds on it. i lost the box but the shells say super speed xtra 7 1/2... In my defense, the box did have birds on it. :confused:

Dude, I have killed a mountain of Woody's with The Xtra #7 steel load. They are more than enough to kill a small bird like the Wood Duck, but they would be pushing it for anything bigger like Mallards, etc

well thats some good news. I guess ill be able to use them after all. Ill try to devote a couple days to the wood ducks this year. I get so wrapped up in hunting them pigs and deer its hard to stop.

As long as you're shooting steel, you'll be ok. If not, I think you will be seeing Tim, from across a desk;):D

Yeah, i made sure i got the steel. I need to pick up some steel 00 buck if im gonna bring any extra incase i need to use it.
