Oklahoma opener

Oklahoma archery season kicks off next thursday, Oct 1st through Jan 15th.
I was out the other day scouting, still real green around here, and lots of bugs. But I will be in my stand with thermacell running.:D

It has been a great first few days, Have seen lots of deer on my property this year, more than all other years combined, I attribute this to maintaining a year round food plot.
Opening morning I had a nice little buck apear out of nowhere, I was waiting for his head to get behind a tree so I could position for the shot, when 50 yards away, where my brother was, I heard the distict sound of a large hunting pack hitting the ground from 20 feet up:eek:
Woops!
Then the turkeys showed up, it apears that they have returned to there fall roost on my property, and there is a real nice tom in the flock, him and I will be doing lunch sometime this season.
Second morning was not seeing much, so I pulled out my QB Bleat in Heat, and pulled a doe out of the thick brush, but once she got to within 50 yards and didnt see her long lost buddy, she got skitish and skirted around me, once she was out of sight, I called to her again, she came right back to within 30 yards, but she was in some real dense cover, never gave me a shot.
Saw a dandy buck later that morning, if it would have been rifle season he would have been mine. He was following a doe, which I find to be a bit strange this early in the year.
Took today off, probably hit it again in the morning.
