Hello All
I post this in hopes somebody can help. As many of you know, I am disabled, and I am getting requests for help in finding stuff REALLY cheap, or free. I have been able to help with the fishing equipment, but many are still trying to get some hunting equipment for spring turkey and later for fall deer and turkey. Please keep in mind, many of these people live on, and raise a family on (like me) a yearly income of about $11,100.00.
I simply would not have been able to enjoy fishing, and hunting at all had it not been for the kindness of strangers. I hope you can help me help a few others! If you have any questions, or feel you can help, please email me for shipping addresses. Thank you in advance, and here is a list of the equipment I am looking for to fill requests:
Crossbow
1. 100 grain crossbow bolt broad heads
2. 20 in. aluminum crossbow bolt (never told me feathers or vanes)
3. Moon nocks
4. Hunter multi range 3 dot red dot, 7/8 inch base (I think he saw this one from Horton)
5. Deck Wax
6. Rail lube
7. Cocking harness

58 Inch recurve 40#’s at 28 inches

1. Finger/glove (he said it was to pull back with)
2. Sighting system
3. Arrows for target and hunting

Gun
1. Red dot for Mossberg 12 ga 500
2. Mounting bracket for the red dot

ANY help would be great, thanks!

Joe

Not sure if I can help or not, but I'll dig through the closet and see if i can come up with anything for you. Also I challenge all the rest of the Pro Staff on here to help some disabled hunters in need. Just dig through those closets and see what is collecting dust or waiting for the next garage sale to sell for a whole 5 dollars.

I thank you and so do these guys I am trying to help. Just so all of you know, I want to tell you a little bit of my story, and had I not lived it, I really would not have believed it!

I have been a Marine, Vol. Firefighter, Police Chief, PI, Body guard, and the security operations manager of our countries second largest train station. I had to sell EVERYTHING to pay medical bills, and pay for medicine. I did all the above by 30, when I became disabled. Now at 34, I am well enough to finally get out into the woods some and try and give back a little to other disabled men and women. I have suffered spinal cord damage, got hit by lightening (it was a illuminating experience!) , and have more nerve damage than I want to get into, and that is the tip of the iceberg. ANYTHING anyone can do would be great.

Case in point, the red dot and the mount for it is needed for a retired air force vet, his wife does my taxes, and she too is disabled. He has suffered two strokes. With a lot of hard work, We have been able to get a stand/blind made, make it so we can get him there in a truck, and had a farmer make a custom gun rest for him with moveable joints so it can be positioned to fit the situation. He needs the red dot to help focus his eyes. He dont have much hunt time left to hunt, and his wife agreed that when he dies she will get with me and his hunting equipment will get redistributed to other disabled hunters, with the exception of a heirloom or two for his kids.

Again, thank you.

Joe,

You may want to try to contact manufacturers directly. I bet they would lend a helping hand....If they do help possibly find a way to publicly display how they've helped. You know a little "back scratching"

Yeah, I have. The problem is they get a TON of requests for help, and as bad as they want to, they cant help all who ask. They do have a business to run, and employees who count on a check. I get that. So I thought maybe I would see if My fellow hunters would dig into old equipment, and give it to a person that would put it to use again. Like I said, Had it not been for the kindness of others, I would not be able to hunt, or fish again. The idea of that, my passion, not being available to me, would depress me really bad, as it did when I couldnt do it. Thank you in advance for stepping up, and the challenge to the others. I hope they step up as well!

Joe,

I'm gonna work on the red dot scope for you, cant promise anything but I'll try. It may take a little time though. This is a hectic time of the year for anyone in the industry. As well my turkey season starts tomm. and I'll be on the road for the next six weeks.....
