Carry-Lite Tundra Swan Decoys
We live in Florida which has lots of birds.
There is a 1 acre retention pond on our property.
We think that the swans would be a great addition.
My wife thinks that the swans would scare away the birds.
Do you know if this is true.
Thank you, George

It should not scare them off at all, as they are not a natural predator, just another bird on the pond. I have seen many ponds with swans and ducks and other birds all coexisting. If you want the swans go with them, now an owl....that could be another story...hahaha
They really should not be an issue, especially where they are decoys. If they were alive, it could be possible for territorial nature to kick in if food sources were an issue (not enough to go around), which could cause the swans to drive off the other birds.
Good Luck!

The Swan decoy should work, as long as it is near the far end of the pond, and gives ducks a chance to land on the other end. I would suggest placing the decoy on the end farthest from the woods, or trees. so that you can get the birds to land closer to the natural cover.

Every Swan I have seen near wher I hunt in Pa. seems to hang near one end or the other of long ponds, and the ducks are usually on the extreme other end.

The swan decoys will actually attract some ducks, puddle ducks, swans stir up food from the bottom as they feed allowing other ducks to get food as it moves to the top.

When I duck hunt I use 2 swan decoys in my spread.
