Hello Everyone, I have been asked a lot about QB calls and am trying to answer people's questions @ Bucking the Odds Forums the best I can. I have turned a lot of people on to the Super Screamer but they want to know more about your products. I won't give advice or talk up any call that I have not used and I will def not recommend a call that does not sound good or that I have had not had success with.
It would be greatly appreciated if the QB Pro Staff who are into predator hunting could answer some of these people's questions for me or directly to them over there. Right now someone wants to know more about the Dog Duster Rabbit Calls and my hands are tied. I try as much as possible to promote your calls on other sites but I have not used them so if you could help it would be much appreciated.
Thank you for your time and here is a link to the question at hand if you would like to answer it directly.
Many thanks!
Tyson

P.S. - I wouldn't mind having some of the predator calls you want promoted show up on my doorstep for field testing! :D

Thanks Chad, I appreciate it....I am starting to understand how you feel as far as people asking you questions pertaining to QB gear....Def have a new respect for what you go through, but I must say I am loving every moment of helping out people in need!
Thanks for emailing the others and for possibly making future phone calls.

It's no problem.
Helping people on a computer is pretty hard, in general. You see how it gets in that one gun forum. Just wait until turkey season gets closer, it will turn into an information overload/bashfest. You will have people who know what they are talking about going head to head, and the not so experienced ones will be throwing more fuel to the fire. The thing is, if you can help just one person, it will all be worth it.
Helping them in person is my favorite. It gives you a chance to show them and let them hear what it is all about. And, you don't have sketchy charactors popping up, making the conversation go in reverse. Have you taken any new prospective pred hunters out with you lately? This activity will yield many benefits, and start you on the road if should you one day decide to become a Pro-Staffer for a company.

So True Chad, always love your perspective.:D
Yeah I have been bringing out new people just about weekly, right now I am getting very political with creating an Organization in Maine that will help decrease coyote populations and increase revenue for coyote programs and wherever the extra money is needed my Maine's Inland Fish and Wildlife (Maine IF&W). We are starting a petition that would allow hunting of coyotes on Sundays which would give the working class people a second day to hunt and in theory twice as much time to hunt and kill coyotes if they purchase a permit for Sunday Coyote Hunting. This Permit would raise money for coyote programs and much needed funds for Maine IF&W. It would be a pilot program but something that needs to happen. They have to stop blaming harsh winters on the decrease of deer herds. Last year hunters tagged the least amount of deer since 1986 and this year is even worst. They are finding that some northern parts of Maine have had the deer population completely wiped out. They also found out that coyote kill just as many if not more deer per year than hunters!!!
If I am successful at starting this Organization than that should put me somewhere on the map for sure...Maybe not the best spot especially in the eyes of tree huggers but it will be big news in the Predator Community.
Thanks for asking Chad...Sorry to rant but I am getting pretty nasty at coyote hunting and I am really excited and hope that the pilot program gets enough signatures that it will be voted on.
Also we are starting some clubs as well as a coyote contest where every person puts in $10 and the person with the most coyotes at the end of the time given will get all of the money! That will be a fun contest for the coyote hunters in Central Maine!

Sounds like you have a solid plan! It is good to see that you are passionate about doing this to help everyone, while having a great time as well. Coyote contests are pretty rad. They have one near me, and some of those guys go all out!

Well I guess that you Chad are the only QB Pro Staff Member who helps people out on this site and this is kind of out of your area from what you say. You would think that a CALL COMPANY FORUM would make their Pro Staff Members be involved in the forum (That is what the forum was made for right?)....Is this just a Turkey Forum..? I think I just saw a tumble weed...."but its going to pick up in the next couple of months before Turkey Season"....But you guys sell calls for ALL TYPES OF GAME!...SO WHY IS THERE NO ONE TO HELP WHEN IT COMES TO DEER OR PREDATOR HUNTING...? I don't even dare ask about anything else related to tips on using your calls for anything other than turkeys or ducks and geese, because Chad will actually respond unlike the others.
This is frustrating!!!!!
I try my best to promote your calls at a bunch of different forums and to a bunch of different people in Maine but I can't even get help or promotional responses from the Pro Staff besides Chad (Who is the Man by the Way)....Maybe that should be one of the requirements of being Pro Staff @ QB...Share your knowledge of your company's products with interested individuals...Just a Thought.......
I should not be the one Promoting your products more than you guys...Come on that's just not right...You have people who want to buy your calls and want answers to which ones they should get and it has been 3 days now with no answer for them...? You would think QB would be all over this....Or does the few who are interested not matter in the Big Picture because most of your Sales are Turkey Calls?

Tyson,
I have contacted the people in question through not only email, but also by phone(which in turn ended up being a voicemail left). They do indeed also work full time jobs, also in which two of them live in farther out timezones. This would put them at work at this very moment. I would just ask for more patience. I will get you the answers. I could have made up answers, and BS'd my way out of it, but I know these guys are Jam Up in the Predator world. I will keep trying, until I put it together.
The one thing that I remember, is that for the longest time, two Pro-Staff members in particular, were on here day in and day out, trying to drum up some predator interest, but it never really took off. They started logging on less frequently as a result.
Traffic here is slow compared to some other call sites, as when you run with QB, you run with some Old School G's. Quaker Boy was selling calls and building it's brand back when Computers in people's homes was a radical concept. It is a relatively new tool to the company as a whole, as far as marketing goes. There is always a challenge, and we are always up to it. I never give less than 100%, and use situations such as this as a chance to build on.
Paul,
Thanks for your input. You did a fantastic job as a brother in the QB family, and still are a valued member.:)

Thanks Paul for digging out your unused gear and giving me a report on them..I will link those interested to this site...From here on out I will just tell them to try their luck over here...I won't be doing the leg work if what it takes is a past Pro Staff Member to get me feedback from calls he did not even find value in using, hence why they were in the packaging.
I too work full time, I am Starting a family, and hunt non-stop. I understand how the point system works with videos, expos, appearances, "face time" to stay on as a Pro Staff Member and know that it is not a requirement to report on-line (I just said it would be nice to talk to those who find you "Role Model Material"...it apparently is underrated on-line where the young generation, the ones that will keep hunting alive...The Future...Are spending a lot of time and doing their research with today's tools. I am not that green behind the ears and don't even work or have any relation to QB other than liking some of the calls.
Funny that valued members are always the one with ties in the Industry.
Thanks Again and have a Merry Christmas.

I guess I am in the wrong place Daddy Paul. Again Thanks for you help..but if you look back you talked down to me and once again you are now. Don't need the violin just an answer...You provided it, I helped out a new hunter which is all I was trying to do. The funny part is that I was recommending him to QB Forums and all their predator calls and this is how I get treated. 3 days is kind of long in my book...We all do the work amongst many other things so I don't need this when I was promoting a company I don't have any benefit for promoting while trying to help out a young hunter. Give me a break, translation-nill, but the proof was in the packaging.

Tyson...if your that upset, call Quaker Boy and voice your concerns.
Pretty nice of Paul to provide some info, considering he has no obligations to QB. Paul is very informative and backs it up in the field with results.
Most folks associate QB with turkey calls...that will probably never change.

Tyson,
I have made calls, and done the best I can do. I do apologize for letting you down.
I will go on record as saying that I am not here for compensation, or duty by QB. I really do enjoy meeting new people, and having a good time with my friends, old and new. Hunting and shooting are my passion, and it's great to have a place to talk about it with others. There are indeed things to be ironed out, and I am working on that.
The Archery,Events, and Classified threads were added very quickly, at the request of others and when there was a problem with your own Ridgerunner, I did my best to do right by you, and get you taken care of.
I hope that the source of your displeasure is not with me. I value you as well as a member of the forum.
Everybody be cool, it's the Holidays!

If see a product I want to find info about I always check youtube first and then google it. The forum is usually a last ditch effort for me. I can understand where your both coming from. I strongly believe that if QB was to make a short video of each of their calls their sales would go up considerably. People would be less confused on what to buy and feel more comfortable on making the purchase because they would know exactly what their getting.
If I was in your situation Tyson id push the calls I've used and if they wanna know about other calls id just tell them I haven't used them but have had good luck with the QB calls that I have used. Id never push a call I haven't used. You truly are an asset to the forum and im glad you are trying to help other hunters. Theres not a lot of people that are willing to devote their time like that.
We are all just victims of a slow forum. I wish I could contribute more but my experience is limited. The only QB call I own is a wood duck call that I don't even use because I spend more time looking for deer and pigs.

Just a suggestion, why not have QB send their pedator line of calls to tyson to try. Then he can make a short video demonstrating each one and post to youtube then sticky the link to the top of the predator calls section. Or at least have some pro staffers do it. This should be done for all of your top calls and stickied to their corresponding sections. You would include a link to the forum in the video for more tips as well as the site for purchase. I think this would be a step in the right direction to grow the company as well as the forum and should seriously be considered.

Been thinking on this whole concept of advertizing. I think I came up with a good idea.
Here's the pitch.
Turn the video thing into a contest. Entrys must be posted on youtube demonstrating their favorite QB call. One entry per section (deer, turkey, predator.) Videos will be judged on editing, wealth of knowledge, originality, and proffesionalism. One winner will be chosen for each section.
Disclaimer: All entrys may be used for promotional purposes without notification or compensation.
The whole idea behind the contest though is to flood youtube with free advertising! Cha Ching! :) You would have to have a decent prize as well as market the contest. Put a big ad on the homepage to start. Maybe a short comercial on the outdoor channel.
What do you think?

FlHunter23 you have some Great Ideas and always have, Chad you have been nothing but helpful to me, as I posted in almost every post in this thread...That you are the only QB Pro Staff that helps, and you have done me right on several occasions. I thanked Paul for his help, but it was not me that wanted to know about the calls, I was trying to help a new hunter by providing him with the best knowledge possible.
I enjoy helping new hunters and I usually direct them to this forum for help. But it is times like these that make me wonder why I do that when I get disrespected for asking the questions I would have had him ask, glad he did not make it over here because QB would have lost a possible customer if he got the treatment I just got.
I was disrespected for no reason whatsoever, I was trying to help a new hunter and get a QB Sale for QB..I have Zero ties to the Company.
I am not QB Pro Staff, I have never been Pro Staff like Paul or ever tried to be QB Pro Staff, and I feel that what was said was disrespectful in every way. I will not tolerate getting talked down to because I am not part of the group of Pro Staff Members, I have hunted way over 125 days now since July, sometimes it was for 2-4 hours before work or 2-4 hours after work (Sometimes both) in addition to working full time at one job and more; such as feeding the homeless on several occasions, teaching people how to shoot guns, gun safety, bringing them hunting, currently organizing a group that would raise money for Maine IF&W while decreasing the Coyote Population, Christmas and Holiday activities.....The list goes on and on and I should not be treated like crap because I do not have a title or that I am not a Past or Present Pro Staff Member of any Company.
Once again Thanks Paul for your help, it was appreciated by the new hunter, but you were unprofessional in the way you handled the situation and looked down at me like I am a no one because I don't have a title or ties to any companies in the hunting industry....You don't need any of that stuff to be good at what you do. And I am darn good at hunting and shooting as well as helping others.
Everyone Have a Merry Christmas, best of luck in the New Year. This will be my last post, I will not be treated like that again from Paul, and if he is Sponsored he should be ashamed of himself for his actions. Yeah he helped but before and after the help was nothing but rotten.
It was a pleasure Chad, slam those Thunder Chickens in the Spring and Fall like you always do! And to be clear you never did me wrong. Your a good man.

I am not going to ban anyone, or kick anyone out of here. There is a bit more profanity than usual, which could be frowned upon, but I feel confident that it is a one-off deal.
This is a conflict that is between two people, and for the most part, has been nothing but respectful. I do believe that this could be resolved with a little more patience and understanding. I don't fault anyone if they want to leave, it's a free country. But everyone is welcome here, and perhaps in time, after holiday pressure subsides, and especially as Spring approaches we can all get together and chill again as brothers in arms.
One thing that I have learned from the internet and text messages, is that it is easy to get things all mixed up and let things spiral out of control when dealing with comments and views in print. The same emotion and feeling that can be displayed by voice is not there in black and white, and it becomes what's in the eye of the beholder.
This forum is supposed to be a place to discuss hunting, share info, etc., not be a source of stress. As we head into the New Year, I will work harder to ensure that things run smooth, and most everyone is happy.:)

Hey Tyson,
Chad dropped me some emails the last few days to have me come by and offer some info. Sorry I was not on earlier I was in WA bowhunting with and old friend.
I clicked on the link to Bucking the odds and I do not want to become a member to read the post. Feel free to call me Tyson with any questions, anytime. 775-813-5472. I am not much on my computer anymore to follow the posts on here. I would love to be on here more but that means less time with my family, or hunting, scouting, shooting my bow, reading maps, building arrows, you get it.
You can see I have not even had time to send in my profile to make the prostaff page.
Thanks

David,
Thanks for dropping in. I know how hard it is to keep up with everything, especially in the middle of hunting season. I figured you were up to something that kept you out of contact with me, but knew you would be on ASAP.
Hopefully Tyson, or his friend will take you up on your offering of help, as I know you are the best authority on the subject.

I hope you dont leave Tyson. I think the whole thing was just a big misundstanding. I know you just wanted answers so you could get back to the guys on BTO. I have started threads on here that never got a reply. It can be frustrating. I can see how you could take offense to DP's posts but i just dont think he was trying to offend you. NE ways i hope that the both of you can get past this and continue to be part of the QB forum. It just wouldnt be the same without the both of you.

Just thought I would stop in this morning before I start my day. Mr Tyson, when you get some spare time please give me a shout on the phone number I provided. I will do my best to answer your questions.
Quaker Boy is sending me their new Coyote call prototype to test drive and give suggestions. I will stop in after I get my hands on it to share my thoughts.
Hope everyone has a Great Christmas.
